News & Updates

The world grows every week. Here’s everything new — the map, the war engine, the Royal House, and the road ahead. Newest first.

v0.73.323 Jul 2026

Your research now does what it says

  • Some techs were charging you real resources for effects the game never actually applied. Medic healing (the three Ranger techs), the Ottoman Royal Foundry (Bombards ×2 damage) and the French Musket Drill (Musketeers fire twice as fast) are now live — and each is yours alone; no rival inherits your research.
  • Two others — Extended Reach and Noble Cavalry Tradition — describe things the battle engine genuinely can’t do yet (there’s no Reach stat, and no charge cooldown). Rather than quietly fake them, their cards now say “not yet active” until the mechanic is built properly.
  • A guard now fails the build the moment any tech advertises an effect nothing reads, so this class of promise can’t creep back in.
v0.7320 Jul 2026

Caravans on the road — trade, tribute & demands

  • Click any rival capital and load a caravan with Food, Wood, Stone or Iron. To an ally it’s trade; to anyone else it rides as tribute that buys their goodwill. The carrier’s duty is a flat 20% of the goods, paid in gold — the caravan then walks the road, delivers, and returns.
  • A rival that towers over you may demand tribute instead of raiding. Answer it in your Reports: pay with a caravan, or refuse and take it as cause for war.
  • Standing yearly tributes, both ways — pledge one to keep a dangerous neighbour sweet, or demand one from a power you outmatch. Caravans deliver on their own each year; if the stores run dry it stops, and someone remembers the slight.
v0.6913 Jul 2026

A living, farmed frontier

  • Painted farms — wheat fields, vineyards, cattle and horse pastures — now scatter across the whole map by terrain, not just around your capital.
  • Cluttered generic resource markers are gone; every tile now shows its true landscape, and the tile popup is far cleaner.
  • The map now centers precisely on your capital at start and whenever you tap the recenter button.
v0.6813 Jul 2026

Ride to war — the Monarch included

  • Any member of your Royal House can now lead an army — even the reigning Monarch. They keep their crown and Court seat while afield; the office’s bonus simply pauses until they return.
  • Royals can fall in battle. A monarch’s death on the field passes the throne by succession, exactly as an old-age death would.
  • Character attributes go live: a ruler’s Intelligence now lifts production, scaled by the office they govern.
  • New crowned-shield app icon and browser favicon.
v0.6713 Jul 2026

Honest battles & a sharper city

  • Unit artwork now appears in every recruitment and army list, with real training progress bars.
  • Battles report honestly — no more inflated numbers — and the plunder report finally reads like a haul, showing exactly how it moved you.
  • Building cards redesigned: full artwork, cleaner text, and the Kingdom Doctrine + Civic Landmark given their own space.
v0.6613 Jul 2026

The Ironfrost & a rebuilt muster

  • The Ironfrost Peaks — a snowbound northern region — now read correctly, with snow settling naturally on the terrain and a frost-veil glinting over sealed land you can still charter.
  • The recruitment screen was rebuilt around unit-portrait pill chips and a four-building training switcher.
  • A new selection ring highlights the building you’ve tapped in your city.
v0.61–0.66Jul 2026

The Royal House comes alive

  • Your dynasty ages in real time, with hidden lifespans, vices that shorten a ruler’s years, marriages, spies, and heirs.
  • Generals now carry a named Service Record and can earn one of eight battlefield traits.
  • Appoint governors to your colonies and hand innate ministry talents to gifted royals.
World2026

One world, 999×999, that never resets

  • A single shared frontier with natural ocean and mountain borders, seven regions of distinct terrain, and land you unlock by charter.
  • Allied borders merge; enemy borders meet at a contested seam. Every six months the world re-zones inward — it compresses, it never wipes.
  • Explore the systems behind it in the Systems Explorer.
